چکیده

Background: As patients with hemiplegia have a high risk of falling, it is important to develop fall rehabilitation plan and/or apply personalised treatment when necessary. Objectives: We aimed evaluate the effects individualised Computerised Dynamic Posturography (CDP) on balance in and without history chronic hemiplegic falls.Method: Forty (time post-stroke: 8–18 months) between 40 70 years age Istanbul Yeniyüzyıl University, Gaziosmanpaşa Hospital participated our study. The were divided into two groups: Group 1, falling (n = 20) 2, no 20). both groups included traditional programme for 5 weeks, days week, 1 h. group falls also received CDP 20 min, 3 weeks. Patients evaluated Sensory Organisation Test (SOT) Berg Balance Scale (BBS).Results: In significant improvement was determined after-treatment SOT values compared before (p 0.022). Significant found BBS 0.003) 6 0.022) 2. There statistically difference ≥ 0.05).Conclusion: Larger samples longer duration therapy studies may be required improve falls.Clinical Implications: addition therapy, beneficial post-stroke falls.

Effects of Sling Exercise Therapy on Trunk Muscle Activation and Balance in Chronic Hemiplegic Patients

Weakening of trunk muscles in stroke patients hinders functional ability, safety and balance. To confirm whether strengthening trunk muscles could facilitate rehabilitation of stroke patients, we investigated the effectiveness of sling exercise therapy (SET) using closed kinetic chain exercises to activate trunk muscles and improve balance in stroke patients. [Subjects and Methods] Twenty strok...
